Trash/Recycling Information

If you have any questions or problems with your trash service, please call the City of DeSoto Action Center at (972) 274-CITY or (972) 230-9600.

The City of DeSoto currently does not issue or replace receptacles for regular household trash. You may purchase your own trash cart from a local hardware or janitorial supply store to hold secured trash bags at your property. You may also purchase strong 2-ply trash bags at the Water Utility window at a cost of $11.93 +tax for a roll of 50 bags. Effective June 2024, the City of DeSoto will issue a trash and recycle bin for every resident in the city.

Republic Services is the primary trash contractor for the City of DeSoto. If dumpsters are needed for large commercial or residential projects, contact the City Manager's office (972) 230-9643.
