Representatives from TXU Energy and the Texas Tree Foundation gathered at DeSoto’s North Elerson Park today to plant trees donated through TXU’s Committed to Community Growth Program. TXU Energy donated five 45-gallon bur oak trees to the City of DeSoto Parks & Recreation Department.
“We’re proud to partner with the DeSoto’s Parks & Recreation Department and to create healthy communities through tree donations and plantings,” said Kimberly Hilley, TXU Energy Corporate Affairs Manager. “These trees, provided by the Texas Tree Foundation, allow us to positively impact the quality of life today and make a sustainable difference for tomorrow. We are so honored to be able to plant these beautiful trees in DeSoto’s North Elerson Park.”
“We are grateful to TXU and the Texas Tree Foundation for the donation,” said Renee Johnson, Director of Parks & Recreation for City of DeSoto. “Community partnerships and initiatives ensure that our community will continue to thrive.” said Johnson. “DeSoto Parks & Recreation will continue to promote partnerships with corporate and community groups such Boy Scout Troop 109, and the DeSoto Lions Club who assisted with the tree planting today.”
