2nd Quarter Update
April 2022 

The final Tree Mitigation Ordinance was submitted to City Council and approved on November 2, 2021.   Staff placed a link to the Tree Mitigation Ordinance on the Planning and Zoning page of the City's website. Additionally, staff has designed and ordered informational postcards to be mailed out to property owners of undeveloped sites of three or more acres to make them aware of the Tree Mitigation Ordinance. Staff anticipates receiving the postcards in Q3 and mailing them out to the identified property owners.

1st Quarter Update
January 2022

The proposed Tree Mitigation Plan was presented to the Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission on September 28 and forwarded to the City Council for consideration with the requirement of a super-majority vote for passage. The Tree Mitigation Ordinance was subsequently presented to the City Council on November 2 and was unanimously approved. Educational outreach to owners of undeveloped properties is currently underway. An informational pamphlet has been created and posted on the City’s website. In Q2, staff will develop a mailing list of owners of undeveloped properties to send information postcard regarding the Tree Mitigation Ordinance.
