Administrative Assistant
Terri Kordsmeier

Terri came to work for DeSoto Fire Rescue in August of 2007. Her role as staff administrative assistant is a vital position in keeping the operations of the department running smoothly. She provides all the support to the Chief and Assistant Chief and also assists with budgetary functions and producing the Fire Department's Annual Report and Quarterly Newsletter. She is responsible for requests for medical records, fire reports, maintaining departmental records, assisting with payroll activities and keeping all certifications and licenses updated.  She coordinates public education for the Fire Marshal and schedules program tours for churches and schools.

Terri is an avid fan of the food network and enjoys experimenting with new recipes. She loves her work which she says “is extremely interesting, as well as challenging” and has been part of a “fire department” family since 1965 when her brother joined the New York City Fire Department. She has been married to her husband Jim for 9 years and both completed the City of DeSoto’s “Civic Academy” in 2005. They enjoy spending time with friends and family and traveling to new places.
