The DeSoto Arts Commission is comprised of seven members appointed by the City Council to serve a two-year term with a term limit of six years.  The Commission also has two student members, selected by the Commission, who serve one school-year term.  To be eligible to serve on the DeSoto Arts Commission, you must be a DeSoto resident for the last twelve months and complete the Board & Commission Online Application  Appointments are made on an annual basis in September each year.  To be eligible to serve as a student member, you must be a DeSoto resident entering the 11th or 12th grade and complete the student member application.

The DeSoto Arts Commission is responsible for managing the Cultural Arts Grant Program offered by the City of DeSoto and for planning and executing other arts opportunities in DeSoto with the mission of making DeSoto the "Mecca" for entertainment in the Best Southwest. 

The DeSoto Arts Commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Conference at City Hall.
