The critically acclaimed African American Repertory Theater will kick off its milestone 5th season on October 26 with the rousing musical Crowns. Staged for AART by director Sonya Ewing Andrews and music director Melanie Bivens, Crowns is a crowd-pleasing, uplifting presentation to mark the company’s achievement of five years of critically-acclaimed productions. The play opens on Friday, October 26, and runs through Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the DeSoto Corner Theatre, 211 E. Pleasant Run, DeSoto, Texas. There will be a special preview performance at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Regular shows are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
